Steven A. Przybylski

Dr. Steven Przybylski is President and Principal Consultant of the Verdande Group. He provides its technical, management and intellectual property consulting services. He is widely recognized as one of the industry's foremost authorities on cache and memory system design and DRAM architecture. An independent consultant since 1991, he has consulted to over 90 semiconductor and computer system vendors, venture capitalists, and legal firms.

As a member of the founding team of MIPS Computer Systems, Steven Przybylski played a key role in the development of the MIPS architecture and has worked on several CPUs and a broad range of systems. All told, he has participated in the design of 5 RISC processors and their associated systems.

He is the author of both New DRAM Technologies: A Comprehensive Analysis of the New Architectures (1994,1996) and Cache and Memory Hierarchy Design: A Performance-Directed Approach (1991). In addition, he has written over 30 articles on DRAMs, caches, RISC CPUs, and computer system design, and holds 3 patents in computer system design. Steven has a M.S.E.E. and Ph.D. from Stanford University, an M.B.A. from the Haas School of Business at the University of California in Berkeley and a B.A.Sc. from the University of Toronto.

Steven also teaches in both industrial and academic environments. He has taught advanced graduate courses at Stanford University and has presented over 50 full and partial day seminars on DRAMs, memory systems, and computer system design to both corporate and general audiences worldwide.
